Organization Profile

Leadership Howard County

Since 1985, Leadership Howard County has provided innovative programs designed to empower and connect community leaders, and keep them engaged in the critical issues facing Howard County and our region. Drawn from private businesses, nonprofits and the public sector, Leadership participants share a common interest in learning more about their community. Each class consists of experiential activities, forums, and meetings with prominent leaders and key decision makers, enabling participants to know themselves, each other and Howard County in new ways. The skills, connections and knowledge gained through the 10-month program empower community leaders to strengthen and transform the community and inspires them to make a difference. Participants are selected based on a written application and personal interview. Leadership Howard County is supported through tuition, membership dues, and generous community sponsors. Some financial assistance is available for class participants based upon demonstrated need. Class sessions run from September - June. To learn more about application criteria, deadline and schedule visit and go to the Program link.
