Columbia Amateur Radio Association


The Columbia Amateur Radio Association (CARA) is an IRS 501(C)3 non-profit organization that endeavors to: encourage beneficial use of Amateur Radio to support community activities and needs; and, organize activities to help member explore amateur radio capabilities. CARA goals include: • Assist fellow Amateur Radio Operators in building proficiency and expanding opportunities to enjoy amateur radio via cordial interaction among club members; • Continue and expand the Amateur Radio Operator’s proven ability to contribute to the advancement of the radio art; • Organize and prepare Amateur Radio Operators to provide communications to serve public interests and activities in all times of need, including emergencies and disasters; • Educate and inform the public about non-commercial amateur radio communications; • Expand the population of trained communications operators, radio technicians, and electronics experts for the Amateur Radio Service; • Promote Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) education.
