BikeAbout Traffic Volunteer
Columbia Association’s (CA) annual Columbia BikeAbout is looking for Volunteers!
This free event is being held this year on Saturday, September 17, organized by CA and the Columbia Archives.
Volunteers will assist with traffic control and directions, and they will act as guides along the 12-mile route. Flexible shifts (about 2-3 hours long) are available between 9:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. Training and a free T-shirt will be provided for those volunteering to help.
Traffic volunteers will be stationed along our route at street intersections and throughout the pathway system. Traffic assistance consists of asking bike riders to stop and wait for vehicle traffic to pass and letting riders know where they are headed along the route. Riders must follow the rules of the road. Please do not stop vehicle traffic.
Knowledge of pathways in the villages of Town Center, Hickory Ridge, or Wilde Lake or the ability to identify locations using pathway map is a plus.
