"I've Been to the Mountaintop:" a Listening Session for Men - MLK Day of Service
Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s work in the civil rights movement is only a part of his legacy as one of the world’s foremost humanitarian committed to non-violent activism. “I’ve Been to the Mountaintop,” Dr. King’s final speech before he was assassinated, was one of his most impassioned and fervent calls to action. He asked every member of society to not lose hope and to hold steadfast to the dreams of a more just and free world.
Please join us for this important conversation in honoring Dr. King’s commitment to equality and justice. We will explore the intersections of race and gender with gendered violence, and how to create stronger, safer, and healthier communities.
This listening session aspires to be a place that:
- supports men’s voices,
- provides an opportunity to help shape programming, and
- solidifies an empowered and equal partnership in the feminist movement.
Note: To signup a volunteer that does not meet the minimum age only the minimum age with adult age, parents/adults need to create a team which includes themselves and the volunteer(s) that are under age.
