Empowering Small Group Leader
A TCP Empowering Mentor is someone who is passionate, energetic and eager to give back to the youth in a group leader/mentor role during a TCP Youth Empowerment program.
In this role, the Empowering Mentor will lead a group of students, roughly 4-6 students, by facilitating the program curriculum, providing guidance and assistance in the development of their business plan and presentation, and most importantly, being a friend and mentor to the students.
Empowering Mentors need to have a 1. Background or college degree in a specific area of business; 2. Be an Entrepreneur or business owner; 3. or have a history of volunteering in after-school programs and be willing to learn our curriculum.
Empowering Mentors need to have reliable transportation, pass a background check, be able to get onto military base, be self-driven and motivated, enjoy working with kids, possess great time management skills, and be adaptable and flexible.
The Empowering Mentor will be responsible for attending a min of 85% of the program sessions and communicating with the students during non-program session days, ensuring the students are prepared and keeping up with the necessary work.
The TCP Youth Empowerment program is an after-school program that meets twice per week for 24-weeks (Sept. 17 - February 28) weather pending, and we are seeking volunteers for the first 12 weeks of the program (business portion).
