BikeAbout History Buff
Volunteers are needed for Columbia Association’s (CA) annual Columbia BikeAbout, a free event being held this year on Saturday, September 29, 2018 organized by CA and the Columbia Archives.
Volunteers will be outgoing and interested in learning about Columbia's history. Several historical sites are located along the 12-mile route. Flexible shifts are available between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. Training — and a free T-shirt — will be provided for those volunteering to help. History site volunteers will be provided a script about their site.
During the event volunteers will answer questions from BikeAbout participants about the site. We will provide volunteers with information to answer questions.
Some sites work better with two history volunteers - please let me know if you have a friend you'd like to volunteer with. Knowledge of pathways in the villages of Oakland Mills and Long Reach, or ability to identify locations using pathway map is a plus.
