Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) Pre-service Training
Voices for Children recruits, trains and supervises community volunteers to become Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASAs). A new training session will begin April 9, 2018 and run for 7 Monday evenings.
Please visit Voices for Children to complete our on-line application or contact us at 410-740-0933 if you have any questions or need more information. Potential volunteers must complete an application and an interview before beginning training.
CASA pre-service training focuses on the dynamics of child abuse and neglect, an understanding of the court process and familiarity with community resources. After successful completion of training and thorough background checks, CASA volunteers are assigned a child through the Howard County Circuit Court. Volunteers must agree to make at least a one year commitment to the program after they are assigned to a child.
