Become a Partner
Nonprofit and governmental agencies seeking volunteers are invited to register with the Volunteer Center Serving Howard County as a partner organization. Registration is free.
(Community groups -youth groups, scout troops, civic organizations- and businesses seeking volunteer opportunities: an individual from your group needs to register, at which point you will be able to create a team within the system.)
You must also complete our Organization Agreement form. This is a memo of understanding between The Volunteer Center Serving Howard county and your organization. Complete and submit the form by clicking the button at the bottom of the form.
Once your registration has been approved, your organization may begin to submit volunteer opportunities.
It's that simple!
New Partner Staff Orientations help you get the most from your partner status. Offered once a month, learn how to optimize the use of volunteerhoward.org to increase visibility, recruit more volunteers and identify skilled volunteers. Sessions are free, but regsitration is requested.
Our online referral system (powered by HandsOn Connect) is a powerful way to find local volunteers. Once you list your opportunities, be sure to add Volunteer Center Serving Howard County to your website and provide a link to your listings on VolunteerHoward.org. Adding VolunteerHoward.org to your website makes it easier for visitors to record their volunteer hours.
In addition to volunteer referral, the Volunteer Center Serving Howard County supports local nonprofit and governmental agencies through:
Promoting best practices in volunteer management
Communicating opportunities for professional training and workshops related to volunteer management
Encouraging and supporting volunteer recognition activities.
Consulting with agencies interested in creating new volunteer programs or enhancing existing programs
Providing materials and trainings to continue the necessary task of disaster planning in local agencies
