Ellicott City Flood Recovery

The Volunteer Center Serving Howard county is assisting relief efforts by registering individuals, groups and businesses willing to help, and connecting them to organizations in need of volunteers.

To volunteers:

In order to receive communications, register with the Volunteer Center Serving Howard County and be sure to do two additional steps:

  1. Complete the registration form AND in addition to the required fields, under the section DEMOGRAPHIC AND VOLUNTEER OPTIONS, check the "yes" box for "I am interested in being contacted for disaster service".

  2. If you have skills you would like to utilize, complete the Skills profile found under My Account when logged into the system. Be sure to in indicate "Yes" under "Accept Invitations".

Sharing this additional information allows the Volunteer Center and non-profit partner organizations to email you links to available opportunities that fit your interests, abilities and skills.

To Groups/Teams:

Team Leaders register as above, then create a team. The Team Leader will then be able to register team members for volunteer opportunities.

Please be patient. Not all organizations have a dedicated Volunteer Coordinator; it may take a few days to get a response.

TO Non-Profit organizations:

If you are a local non-profit organization impacted by the flood or are assisting those impacted by the flood, you can post your volunteer opportunities using your organization's partner portal. If you have questions or need assistance posting your opportunities please contact us at info@volunteerhoward.org or 410-715-3172.
