Adventist Community Services, Disaster Response
Mission: Chesapeake Adventisit Community Services (ACS) represents
a group of volunteers from the Chesapeake conference of Seventh-Day Adventists.
We work with communities to provide assistance in several ways. One focus of
our group is disaster response. We provide assistance to communities during
times of disaster by distributing goods and materials to those in need. Much
of our assistance is in coordination with federal and state organizations. ACS
also provides training to ensure we provide effective management of our local
and regional distrubition centers and warehouses.

Maryland Environmental Trust
Mission: The Maryland Environmental Trust is a statewide land
trust governed by a citizen Board of Trustees. It was created by the General
Assembly in 1967. The goal is the preservation of open land, such as farmland,
forest land, and significant natural resources. The agency holds over 111,000
acres of privately-held open space throughout Maryland. Their primary tool for
doing this is the conservation easement, a voluntary agreement between a landowner
and the Trust.
