Camp Make A Difference is back!

Would you like to make a difference while still having fun? Join us for an exciting camp experience that includes both volunteer projects and recreational activities (i.e. swimming) and a special activity day at the end of each session. Meet new people, learn about your community, help local agencies, and discover new interests and skills while making a difference and having fun! This program is being offered in partnership with the Columbia Association Camps Program. Age ranges vary by session: Grades 6-8 July 7 - 11 (1 week); Grades 6-12 July 14 - July 18 (1 week). Do you know a young hero who should be profiled in the National Service Briefing?

Nominate a young person between the ages of 5-25, who you think deserves to be profiled as a young hero. To submit a Young Heroes nomination, please send the name, age, city, and state of the young person you are nominating, as well as a brief description of their involvement in service to change their community. Self-nominations are accepted. Send nominations to nsbinfo@ysa.org with the subject line NOMINATION.

The Volunteer Center Serving Howard County is seeking 2 exceptional candidates for our VISTA positions, one focused on youth and family volunteer opportunity outreach and the other focused on baby boomer and senior volunteer opportunity outreach. Due to a national position freeze, these positions will not begin until July 2008 at the earliest.
